Rate My Professors is a website that many college students know well. If pre-reg rolls around and you notice an unfamiliar professor listed on WesMaps, chances are you'll spend some time going through their RMP page to get a better sense of their expectations, teaching style, and general attitude.
This informal 'background check' is a great way to curate your Wes experience. If you play your cards right, you can avoid unnecessary academic suffering—instead, you'll be learning from only the best of the best, forming meaningful relationships that may last beyond your time at college.
Over my four years at Wesleyan, I've spent a great deal of time on RMP. Here are some of my all-time favorite reviews. Yes, I removed the names of the professors... but if you're really curious, they shouldn't be too hard to track down.
The Good
Some of these reviews are short and lighthearted, while others are more elaborate. Regardless of what they wrote, all of these students must have really enjoyed their classes given that they went out of their way to leave positive feedback. I think that's kind of sweet.

The Bad
That was cute. But I bet most of you didn't come here to read the boring nice reviews. Let's get into the good stuff! Below, you will find a list of my favorite negative RMP reviews, ranging from darkly funny to genuinely concerning.

Bonus: Hold Your Horses!
But wait—there's more!
While looking through Wesleyan's RMP selection, I was surprised to stumble upon something truly unusual—a page for a professor I'd never heard of before. Now entering his sixth year of teaching in Wesleyan's theater department, this instructor receives stellar reviews from students, who enjoy his dark humor, impressive storytelling abilities, and straightforward teaching approach.
His name? BoJack Horseman.

Thanks for coming along on this Rate My Professors journey with me. If you're feeling inspired, why not write a review yourself?
